WOBBLY

WOOD

Keft bending is a digital fabrication technique that which produces minimal material waste. The process involves removing material following a 2D pattern to allow for flexibility while maintaining a continuous surface.  Two types of elements where designed

The first module consisted of two pieces joined together. The design is based on the initial curve that creates self-cancelling forces and at the same time form a flexible leg/column/suspension structure that would bend appropriately to take the weight from the layers stacked above it.

The second element is the joining system. With the same linear pattern, we created a longitudinal piece that works as a join but gives to the final output a wobbly result.
